Generally Chromebooks aren't used for anything but google apps and software, follow this tutorial and download a more interesting Ubuntu system on your Chromebook.
Enable Developer mode by holding Esc + Refresh + Tap the off button
On the Missing or damaged screen alert screen press Ctrl + d (THIS WILL ERASE all data don't worry though as most everything is saved in cloud)
Wait for the download to process then set up your chromebook again
Download Crouton: Download The link is at the top of the page
Open Terminal (Chroot) Ctrl + Alt + t (Press enter after each command)
Type this command: shell
Then in the shell type: sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t xfce If on a Chromebook pixel you may need to type: sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t touch, xfce
This process may take 10 - 15 min. and will eventually ask for a username and password For the username put in anything you want. For password put in anything (Note the password wont appear its there though)
After Crouton is installed type sudo startxfce4 (in shell)
Linux should start!
